Mood And Food

Food and Mood Courses

This course starts with some background information on the basics of nutrition to help participants establish which foods are necessary for health.  We explore why we need certain nutrients and which foods affect both mental and physical wellbeing. You will discover what we have in common with our hunter/gatherer ancestors and realise what a healthy diet actually is.

At the end of the course we will have covered:

*       the nutrients you need in your diet, what they do and where they can be obtained from;

*       healthy versus unhealthy foods;

*       the evidence base that the food we eat can enhance wellbeing;

*       what's wrong with the modern diet;

*       easy but healthy changes to an average diet;

*       reading and interpreting food labels

The course is delivered over 8 sessions on a Wednesday evening starting on 1st February 2012 at 6.30 – 8.00pm and costs £80, payable in advance, (concessions for people who use our services and carers, ask for details.)
